commentsTravel Adventure Cinema magazine started publishing online last year as a way to cut costs while continuing to serve news to the Travel Adventure Cinema industry. It started with an ambitious plan to take advantage of a number of web features, including ways to make the magazine’s website more interactive.

Based on the popular WordPress open source software platform, the magazine’s new foundation now encourages visitors to register and login to submit comments on stories published by Editor Hal McClure. Travel Adventure Cinema industry members are especially encouraged to become more involved in the interactive content of the site, not only by commenting on stories, but also by submitting news stories, columns and blog entries. Contributing authors can now login and write their own stories directly on the site, where they can be screened, edited and approved directly by Mr. McClure. Authors can even upload video clips and photographs directly to the website for publication.

It is hoped that this interactive blog approach will appeal to more visitors, provide faster turnaround of stories, and help publicize the site through search-engine friendly links and searchable keyword tags. Visitors who leave comments can even include their own Gravatars, icon images users can customize themselves.
