Monty Brown was born in England and raised in Canada. He had his first experience with video working for BBC Television in London. Later he worked as a sound editor and producer with Public Radio in Shreveport. He met his wife and partner, Marsha, when he moved to Louisiana in 1980. The two of them have made music together ever since. They have songs in the film “Steel Magnolias.” Monty and Marsha lived in France for a year in the early 1990’s.
